WAY Remodel in Chicago

Customers and critics alike are in love with WAY for the flexible design, variety of finishes, and clean and sophisticated aesthetic. We recently completed this stunning remodel in Chicago’s Gold Coast. Our designers worked closely with the client and their interior design firm, Marshall Erb Design, to ensure the kitchen matched their collective vision for the entire home. By mixing finishes of similar hues, contrast is achieved by textural differences between the grey larch wood and the lacquered cappuccino finish. WAY’s flexibility allowed the designers to add additional storage by using cabinets as a base for the seating bench in the breakfast nook. The cabinetry was even used in the bathroom as a vanity, making the entire space cohesive.  See larger photos here.

The WAY kitchen is a design free of accessories and decorative elements. Honored with the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design GOOD DESIGN™ Award in 2013, WAY is a versatile design that could be adapted to any home or personal style.
Through careful attention to detail, the fusion of volume and modularity are enhanced by an apparent simplicity. The design’s distinguishing feature is the way it highlights the continuity that exists between elements. The solid nature of the design is rounded off by aluminum profiles, which can extend horizontally as well as vertically in the tall units.

The customization options in WAY provide excellent solutions to limitless spaces, allowing for the perfect fit according to your aesthetic preferences. WAY can be outfitted with more than 100 different finishes in a range of colors and materials, from refined woods to micalized and metallic lacquers.

WAY also exemplifies Snaidero’s commitment to the environment by employing initiatives that not only protect our natural resources, but also improve the quality of life inside the home. WAY uses eco-friendly wood from reserves certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), which establishes the right balance between tree-cutting and forest planting. Additionally, the cabinetry is comprised of low-emission panels which have formaldehyde emissions that are less than half of the E1 European Standard.
